Still a week away, the City of Westminster will kick-off Small Business Week a bit early, with a proclamation at the April 23rd City Council meeting.
The national celebration officially starts on Sunday, April 29, but City partners such as local chambers and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will fire up the fun, this Friday, April 27th with a Small Business Trivia Night and a free Google workshop.
“The collaboration between the City and our partners is what make this week so special,” said Stephanie Troller, Senior Economic Development Office for the City of Westminster. “We support our partners like the Westminster Chamber, Metro North Chamber and SBDC, because they support our businesses. It’s only through working together that we can provide the best resources and services for small businesses in Westminster.”
Most of Westminster’s business are small businesses, defined by the City as companies with 50 or less employees. As a result, the City has developed special programs and services geared toward their growth.
“We have a Small Business Capital Grant that will reimburse 10 percent up to $5,000 for one-time related capital costs,” said Troller. “We are quickly approaching the July 1 application deadline for this program and encourage eligible businesses to learn more and apply online at our Economic Development website.”
