Since 1977, Colorado Sound Studios has provided top-quality recording services for some of the biggest acts in the world — Eminem, the Lumineers, Mumford & Sons, just to name a few. Now the team at CSS is using that experience to teach the next generation of producers and engineers the tools needed to make platinum records on their own. Colorado Sounds Media Labs (CSML) will give students real-world experience both in and out of the recording studio.
CSML offers a variety of courses, including intermediate and advanced recording, and production for songwriters. Their Live Sound course is taught by Kyle Dickey, head engineer at the Grizzly Rose, gives students the skills they need to help set up and run sound in a venue-like atmosphere.
Studio W is the base of operations for CSML and will allow students to learn and practice in a low-risk environment before transferring their new skills into actual studios.
